Catalogued

Privacy

Last updated

This Privacy Policy explains how Catalogued collects, uses, shares, and deletes information when you use the Catalogued mobile app and our websites.

Information you provide

We collect account information such as your email address, username, and any optional profile details you add, including a display name, biography, location, website, profile photo, or banner. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides the account information you choose to share.

We store the reading and social content you choose to create: shelves, reading progress and dates, ratings, reviews, comments, lists, favorites, goals, follows, likes, and related activity. Your privacy settings control which supported profile and review content is shown to other readers. Private lists remain visible only to their owner.

Purchases, notifications, and diagnostics

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat receives a Catalogued account identifier and purchase or entitlement information so we can provide and restore Catalogued Pro; Catalogued does not receive your complete payment-card details. If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token and notification preferences and use Apple Push Notification service to deliver them.

We process technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as request metadata, app and operating-system versions, performance data, and errors. Production app diagnostics may be sent to Sentry with default personally identifying information disabled. Our websites may also produce ordinary hosting and security logs. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or sell personal information.

How we use and disclose information

We use information to authenticate accounts; operate, personalize, and secure Catalogued; publish content according to your settings; deliver notifications; manage Pro access; provide support; prevent abuse; and diagnose reliability problems.

We use service providers to perform those functions, including Supabase for authentication and hosted data services, Google Cloud for the Catalogued API, Cloudflare R2 for book-cover and profile media, RevenueCat for purchase entitlements, Sentry for production error and performance diagnostics, and Apple for Sign in with Apple, purchases, and push notifications. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, Catalogued, or the integrity of the service.

Your choices and deletion

You can edit supported profile, privacy, and notification settings in the app. You can request account deletion from Profile Settings. The account is suspended immediately and scheduled for deletion after a seven-day grace period; signing back in during that period cancels the request. Once deletion completes, Catalogued removes the account and associated user content from its active systems, including stored profile media. Limited records may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, transaction records, or backups until their normal expiration.

Security, children, and changes

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Catalogued is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as Catalogued changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects your choices.
